Beyond assisting with day-to-day client activities, the intern will be responsible for researching and compiling the latest cyber and national security policy legislation and regulations, and work with client leads on stakeholder outreach and engagement, media relations, communications support, policy and stakeholder research, database management, writing documents and memos, and more. Interns may also gain exposure to business development procedures like identifying eligible opportunities and assisting with drafting proposals.

The ideal candidate should have an interest in public affairs and strategic communications as they relate to national security and cybersecurity issues. He/she should possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Interest in or knowledge of cybersecurity policy, government affairs, and related topics

  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment

  • Pristine attention to detail

  • Willingness to take on more than one project at a time

  • Openness to working remotely

  • Availability to commit to a minimum of 15 hours/week for approximately 10 weeks

  • U.S. citizenship

The internship is paid and requires a 20-hour minimum commitment per week for approximately 8-10 weeks. Interns will gain experience in the diverse aspects of a public affairs consulting firm in the national security space, and they will be provided opportunities to engage with and learn from CGA top-level executives. CGA is also able to work with selected interns to receive course credit offered through their colleges and universities.

The anticipated start date is June 3, 2024, but CGA can be flexible, depending on the individual’s prior commitments or needs.
