GRADUATE INTERN, QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS (WASHINGTON D.C.)

Cambridge Global Advisors (CGA) is a strategic communications and public affairs firm seeking an economics and statistics graduate student intern. Our clients span across industries, including NGOs, private sector, and government, with a special focus on public affairs in national security, international relations, and cybersecurity.  

The economics and statistics graduate intern will assist on special client projects related to public pensions and related topics. Beyond assisting with day-to-day client activities, the graduate intern will conduct original data analysis and help produce seminal reports related to the fiscal health of public pensions. Additional activities will include stakeholder outreach and engagement, media relations, communications support, policy and stakeholder research, database management, writing documents and memos, and more.

The ideal candidate should have an interest in public affairs and strategic communications with experience in quantitative analysis. He/she must possess the following qualifications:

  • Quantitative data analysis experience with in-depth Excel knowledge

  • Be comfortable researching and compiling data sets

  • Ability to develop and execute economic calculations related to investment performance

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment

  • Pristine attention to detail

  • Willingness to take on more than one project at time

  • Openness to working remotely

  • Availability for a minimum of 20 hours/week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or similar

  • Be in the process of obtaining a Masters or higher degree: business administration, public policy, economics, public affairs, communications or similar

  • Past experience with working with nonprofits

  • Experience coordinating events

The internship will be paid. Please note, this is not a full-time position, but successful interns may have potential for professional growth and employment opportunities as business develops. Interns will gain experience in nearly every aspect of a public affairs consulting firm.
