Job Description

CGA is seeking a mid-level Communications/Account Executive (3-5 years relevant experience) to oversee and manage day-to-day project affairs for a portfolio of clients with a focus on providing strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and campaign planning services. This position will interface on a frequent basis with clients and requires excellent project management skills to set team priorities, handle multiple deadlines, and manage support staff. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day account work, which may include but is not limited to drafting a wide range of written materials, leading traditional and social media relations outreach, developing client content, including contributed articles, marketing materials, press releases, media pitches and digital/social content 

  • Manage the execution of PR/communications programs and campaigns, with an emphasis on clients and projects in the national, homeland, and cybersecurity space

  • Provide ongoing client counsel, including running client meetings and developing long-term strategies

  • Serve as the liaison between client, internal staff, any outside vendors and, as appropriate, other internal and external audiences (i.e., media, advocates, subject-matter-experts

  • Participate in new business development efforts, including research, strategy development, proposal writing and attending pitches 

  • Manage several staff including providing professional development and mentoring support

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 

  • Prior experience: (3-5 years) 

  • Self-starter and effective manager with demonstrated project coordination, media/PR, and campaign execution skills

  • Ability to produce high-quality written content and demonstrate proficiency in multiple types of communications writing 

  • National or cybersecurity communications or policy experience is a plus

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility and professional manner 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, and work independently, as a team, and often remotely
